One of the major factors which limit productivity cowpea on acid soils is aluminum toxicity. Reliable methods for identifying genetic variation its tolerance indispensable. Genetic variability in 10 accessions were studied laboratory. Fifteen seeds each accession sown sterilized petri dishes containing filter papers and 5 ml AlCl3 at four levels (0, 50, 100 200 µm) replicated three times a completely randomised design (CRD). Petri incubated under room temperature dark 48 hours.
